GK Chooses Gobi Stories to Showcase Employees on Their Career Page
GK is Scandinavia’s leading provider of building technology, with revenues exceeding 6 billion NOK. With around 3,000 employees and 100 offices across Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, they deliver smart and sustainable solutions in ventilation, refrigeration, building automation, electrical, and plumbing. Their mission is to build sustainable communities for generations.
When GK set out to build new career pages in 2022, it was especially important to show potential candidates the many opportunities that exist across the group.
“We were about to launch the company’s first employer branding campaign and build new career pages when we came across Gobi, and it was a game changer. With Gobi, we can present who we are and what we do in a genuine, understated way. We can produce far more in less time, without needing a professional camera or multiple rounds in expensive editing tools.”
At the same time, GK is deeply committed to inclusion and diversity, with a strong focus on social sustainability. When GK came into contact with Gobi, it quickly became apparent that the video platform would be a perfect fit for further strengthening this focus.
In short order, GK got started with their first self-produced “stories,” publishing a series of videos featuring their employees, who could proudly share about both their workplace and their tasks.
After a successful launch of new career pages — now featuring authentic video content from employees — GK also decided to expand their use of Gobi, adopting video for employee interviews and articles as a way to explore new methods of communicating content.
What started as a pilot project in Norway has since expanded across use cases and national borders, and they now use Gobi in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
“We see Gobi as both a channel and a format, because we can recreate the story format that many people are familiar with, and embed story bubbles into virtually any context. I also have great faith in multimedia content because it reaches more people.”
Caroline Kindle, Head of Talent, Culture, and Diversity at GK, believes Gobi helps them tell authentic stories from their own employees.
“It can come across as superficial to communicate on topics like diversity, but with real employees sharing their work and experiences, we get to show that what we do actually matters — in a completely different way than communication directly from the employer.”
We are truly impressed by how quickly GK got started and the quality they have produced from day one. It’s wonderful to see a major industrial group prioritize social sustainability and truly live up to the values they’ve set for the company. We are proud to have GK as a customer and look forward to continuing the partnership!
