One of the most requested features for the Gobi platform is now here: automatic centering of the person in the story thumbnail.
The problem we’re solving is a classic one. When employees film themselves on their phone, they’re rarely positioned exactly in the center of the frame. This resulted in thumbnail images where the head was cut off or the person ended up at the very edge — undermining the overall impression of the story.
How it works
Using face detection technology, Gobi now automatically analyzes the images and centers the person within the thumbnail frame. All newly uploaded stories use this technology automatically.
Have existing stories with poorly centered thumbnails? You can easily update them by logging in and republishing — Gobi takes care of the rest.
Want full control? You can still upload custom thumbnails manually if face detection isn’t suitable for your content.
“A well-centered thumbnail doesn’t just make the story look better — it creates a more natural and engaging experience for the viewer from the very first second.”
We’re continuously improving the platform based on user feedback. Have a feature request? Send it to support@gobistories.com.
